Fire Service Personnel To Get 1000 Housing Units

Federal Fire Service  has entered into partnership with Multipurpose Infrastructure Development Construction (MIDC) Limited, in order  to build at least 1000 housing units for staff of the service.
A senior management staff of MIDC, Mr Joseph Umunnah,  who explained how the scheme would work at the Federal Fire Service Headquarters in Garki 10, Abuja, said his company was partnering the firefighters to provide cheap houses for them.
Joseph explained that the 1000 housing units would be of various sizes, saying a three-bedroom bungalow would go for N9 million and a two bedroom would be sold for N7.5 million while that of one bedroom would go for N5.5 million.

“We are going to issue the first set in six months. We have the materials, we have the resources, so it is doable, for the fact that it’s a low-cost housing,” he assured, stressing that the MIDC is known for delivering top notch projects, beating timelines while ensuring that quality and style are not compromised’’, he said.

Joseph added that the company had delivered similar projects in Badagry, Lagos State, and would ensure the Fire Service project is completed within the stipulated time.
He urged governments at all levels to make the processes of acquiring land and obtaining development approvals for mass housing easier, so that many Nigerians could have access to housing.
City News learnt that the project which would be financed by mortgage, through the First Trust Mortgage Limited, will be located in Lugbe, Airport Road, Abuja.
The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Liman Ibrahim, while receiving the property firm’s staff members in his office, assured of his support to the success of the project.
He insisted that the housing scheme cannot fail, since housing was an essential need for man and every worker dreams of owning one.
