The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive housing initiative aimed at addressing the nation’s housing deficit and promoting equitable development across all regions.

Under this plan, 100 housing units will be constructed in each of the country’s 774 local government areas, culminating in a total of 77,400 new homes.

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Atta, announced the initiative during a recent event in Kano. He emphasized that the project is a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope Housing Agenda, reflecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to providing affordable housing for all Nigerians.

In Kano State, which comprises 44 local government areas, the plan will result in the construction of 4,400 housing units. Minister Atta highlighted that this allocation is among the highest for any state, underscoring the government’s dedication to regional development.

The housing units are designed to cater to a diverse range of Nigerians, including low-income earners, the unemployed, and vulnerable groups. The initiative aims to foster inclusive growth and improve living standards nationwide.

This ambitious project is part of a broader strategy to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for citizens across Nigeria.
