The Federal Government has stated that it would establish trade facilitation desks across the 36 States of the Federation and Abuja in a bid to capture challenges confronting investors and businesses in the States.
Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, stated this at the weekend in Lagos at the quarterly dinner meeting for top 20 non-oil exporting companies organised by Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
Adebayo said different initiatives were in motion to streamline processes and documentation automation for quality and standard checks, adding that such initiatives include the implementation of the National Single Window Trading Platform and approval of the e-custom system.
Adebayo expressed optimism that this move would offer Nigeria, as the largest economy in Africa and one of the leading intra-African trading nations, huge opportunities in manufacturing and exports across Africa; with over $3billion market size as well as consumer base comprising 1.2billlion.
