The Federal Government has urged professionals in the built industry to be focused and ready to improve the nation’s infrastructure development.
Government also reiterated its commitment to the nation’s real estate sector, saying that surveyors should be the frontline operators in the sector.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola said this at the inauguration of the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) in Abuja, where he challenged them to do more with less resources for the benefit of Nigerians.
He explained that professionals will continue to build on the previous achievements by initiating new policy and program that will move the practice forward.

Members of new board, include, the President, Murtala Muhammad Aliyu, Vice President, Austin Nduka Onaro, Pemi Samuel Temitope, Annette Adenike Oke, Ahmad Shehu, and Dickson Onoja.
Others are Prof. Yahaya Ibrahim, Joseph Obieze, Tajudeen Salami, Jacob Awolesi, Michael Shonubi, Adegbeminbo Ogunfidodo, Ekeng Inyang Njum, Basset Ekanem, Kene Nzekwe and Judith Mdimbita.
The board’s president, Aliyu explained that the establishment of construction cost database initiated by past regime was near completion, and they are set out to assist government to get value for money.
Aliyu said: “We want to resolve conflicts arising from issuing practice licenses to qualified quantity surveyors, and to address the problem of non government funding of the association, which would lead to nationwide advocacy to get stakeholders involvement.
“We would be to up date and publish the names of the registered members in a bid to review the existing court cases as well as collaborate with relevant agencies that would help them to build a viable real estate.”
