FG Gazettes the 2020 Amended RPC – President Buhari’s Media Aide, Lauretta Onochie, Claims

Lauretta Onochie, a social media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, has announced a new gazette by the Federal Government in respect of the new Rule of Professional Conduct (RPC) for Legal Practitioners.
This is contained in a tweet on her Twitter account sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL).
“A new gazette by the Federal Government has amended the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners 2007, removing the requirement for the NBA stamp and seal on court processes.” the tweet reads
Onochie added in the tweet that “Before now, membership of the NBA was compulsory for all lawyers. Not Anymore! #SaiBaba”
As at the time of filing this report, the president’s Aide has disabled replies to the tweet

TNL recalls that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has amended the RPC removing the requirements of stamp and Seal in documents prepared by lawyers
