Motorists plying the Abuja-Keffi Expressway are currently stranded as a result of traffic jam on the road.

The development was caused by the demolition currently ongoing in Kugbo area of the Federal Capital Territory.

The FCT demolition squad was said to have stormed the area under tight security, making the Kugbo to Abacha barracks end of the road impassable.

Most hit are those exiting Abuja and heading towards Karu, Nyanya in the FCT and travellers going towards Nasarawa State.

Armed security men barricaded the road shortly before Kugbo Furniture Market, leaving only one narrow lane for motorists.

Those who saw the traffic jam from a distance and decided to drive against traffic from the Abacha barracks bridge also caused problem for those heading to Abuja.

Armed soldiers at the military checkpoint shortly before the Karu bridge were seen turning back some of those driving against traffic.
