The reward for doing is the opportunity to do more. ENGR. Abubakar D. Aliyu, an accomplished Engineer, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a member of the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Mr Abubakar D. Aliyu who hails from yobe, potiskum Local Government Area, started his political journey with his appointment as the Deputy Governor of Yobe State for an undainted period of ten and half (10.5) years.
An engineer by profession, and an erudite technocrat who had also served as overseeing Commissioner of Health, Commerce, Integrated Rural Development as well as chairman of several high-level priority task forces and committees in the state, Mr Abubakar Aliyu had enjoyed educational popularity in the north, he started his Central Primary School Jimeta, where he had his First School Leaving Certificate in 1979, he now proceeded to GSSS Monguno in Borno State where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1984, he now proceeded to Kaduna state Polytechnic where he got a National Diploma (ND) in Civil Engineering in 1988 and HND in High Ways and Transportation Engineering in 1993, In 1999 he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Maiduguri.
As a determined achiever, Engr. is currently a Fellow in the Nigerian Society of Engineers, who had worked as a Technical Officer in Borno State Ministry of Works in 1988 to 1991, he became the Principal Engineer and also Head of Engineering Department in 2004, Supervising Project Engineers Yobe State Ministry of Housing in 2007, Managing Director, Yobe State Housing and Property Development Corporation in 2009, Overseer State Ministry of Health Yobe State, Overseer State Ministry of Commerce Yobe State, Overseer State Ministry of Integrated Rural Development Yobe State and Deputy Governor Yobe State form 2009 to 2019.
The Yobe State golden fish, also served as chairman of State taskforce on:
* State Task Force On Immunization And Primary Healthcare
* State Committee On Resettlement And Rehabilitation Of Internally Displaced Persons
* State Boundary Committee
* State Environmental Committee
* State Sanitation Committee
Engr. Aliyu who has been instituted as the epicenter of solutions to humanity across
clans, he been awarded with several awards and recognitions locally and international, which include:
* Distinguished Service Award By Thinkers Magazine
* Meritorious Service Award By The Task Force On Immunization And PHC
* Best Deputy Governor Of The Decade Award By North East Star Magazine, to mention but a few.
