Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive Officer of X the social media platform formerly known as Twitter and owned by Elon Musk has announced her resignation after two years at the helm.
In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Yaccarino did not provide a specific reason for her departure but hinted that the company is moving into “a new chapter” following its recent acquisition by Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI.
She wrote, “After two incredible years, I’ve decided to step down as CEO of . When Elon Musk and I first discussed his vision for X, I saw it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the company’s extraordinary mission. I’m deeply thankful for the trust he placed in me to protect free speech, help turn the company around, and transform X into the Everything App.”
Yaccarino praised the X team for their efforts in restoring advertiser confidence and enhancing user safety, particularly for younger users. She highlighted key initiatives such as Community Notes and the upcoming launch of X Money as examples of the platform’s innovations.
