The Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) has named Rev. Ugochukwu Chime as the new Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BOT). His appointment follows the passing of the former BOT Chairman, Gabriel Aduku, last year.
AHCN, which serves as the umbrella body for federal and state housing agencies, mortgage institutions, research bodies, and select private developers, said Chime’s wealth of experience and leadership track record will help steer the organization’s efforts in advancing affordable housing across the country.
Rev. Chime previously chaired the Board of Directors at the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation and is a former President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN). He currently serves on REDAN’s BOT and is involved in various boards, including CSTEMP GTE, Bethel Microfinance Bank Ltd., and AG Mortgage Bank Plc.
Born in Enugu State on October 1, 1961, Chime is also the Group Managing Director of Copen Group. He chairs the Presidential Task Team on Land Reform and holds positions with the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors and the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. He is also a trustee of the Irede Foundation.
His appointment is expected to bolster AHCN’s strategic direction in addressing Nigeria’s housing challenges.
