BUA Cement appreciates by 6.12% as market value appreciates to N2.44 trillion

At the end of yesterday’s trading session, BUA Cement Plc share price appreciated by 6.12% to close at N72.00 per share, taking the market capitalization from N2.30 trillion to N2.44 trillion.

The Cement producer recorded gains in share price which can be attributed to investors’ positive sentiment which triggered buy-interests in the shares of the company supporting a gain of N140.54 billion in market capitalization at the close of trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The shares of the quoted company advanced from N67.85 per share at the start of the trading day, to N72.00 per share, the highest price traded at the close of the market, to represent a gain of 6.12% which in monetary terms is N4.15.

The buy-interests witnessed in the shares of BUA Cement positively influenced the company’s market capitalization from N2.30 trillion to N2.44 trillion at the end of the day’s trading activities, taking the gain to N140.54 billion.

The shares of BUA Cement have declined 6.92% from year-to-date, starting the year at N77.35 and currently traded at N72.00. However, the shares of the company have returned about 73.91% gains for investors who bought them at their 52-week low trading price of N41.4 per share.

During trading hours, 826,091 ordinary shares of BUA Cement Plc worth about N56.99 million, were exchanged in 67 executed deals.

In comparison, the shares of Dangote Cement Plc and Wapco Plc closed flat at N280.00 and N24.90 respectively, at the end of the day’s trading session.

At the end of Thursday’s trading activities, the NGX All-Share Index and market capitalization appreciated by 1.10% from the previous trading day, to close at 41,704.11 index points and N21.76 trillion respectively.

The NGX Industrial Goods Index appreciated by 0.04% to close the day at 2,120.14 index points.
