Aliyu Wammako Takes Over As New REDAN president

Alhaji Aliyu Wammako, the Chief Executive Officer, Jedo Investment Company, has taken over as the new President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN).

Wammako at his Investiture ceremony as the 4th REDAN President on Wednesday in Abuja, promised to work with all housing related agencies to foster the availability of affordable housing in the country.

He expressed his joy to be saddled with the mantle of leadership of the Association, and renewed his dedication to serve with a promise to put in his best and ensure that the labour of REDAN heroes is taken to a higher level.
He commended the immediate past president of REDAN for his outstanding and quality leadership, and promised to consolidate on achievements in the areas of Data Collation on Real Estate Management, Endorsement of Estates by REDAN, Capacity Building Training for Developers, and building of new REDAN Secretariat among others.

Wammako, a multiple award winner for his work in real estate and contribution to housing development said that one of his administrations’ top priorities would be to collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders to ensure that Nigerians are provided with opportunities to acquire houses at affordable rates.

He stated that with the commitment of all members, greater attention would be given to members’ benefits and assistance, and that continued advocacy on increased membership as well as capacity development was important.
He challenged stakeholders in the business of providing affordable homes to prove their worth and togetherness, and he called on all relevant organizations, corporate bodies and individuals to key into the Association’s task of providing shelter and related solutions to Nigerians.

Wammako stressed that the 6th EXCO which he chaired, would run an open-door policy, and that it shall be willing to interface with stakeholders and receive ideas for a positive impact on the lives of the Nigerian citizenry, prospering the business of real estate development and the Nigeria’s economy.

He thanked the REDAN Board of Trustees for the quality leadership and guidance which they have provided, and the members of the National Executive Councils, staff of the Secretariat for their enormous contributions.
He said that he looked forward to more robust relationship and guidance with all members, and he urged them to renew their support and dedication with vigours for greater development.

Wammako who hails from Sokoto state, is widely travelled across the globe and is exposed to business relationships and partnerships across continents, and he has held various posts in the country and is affiliated to a number of professional bodies and associations.
Responding, Rev. Ugochukwu Chime, the Immediate Past President of REDAN in his valedictory speech, thanked God for being able to steer the affairs of the Association in the past years, and all members of the 4th and 5th EXCO for their support during his reign and he also commended the tenacity and commitment of their selfless service to REDAN.

He thanked the Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, the Family Homes Funds, and the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company for their support in the catalogue of ideas and activities jointly undertaken during his reign.

Chime commended those in the EXCO, who he described as Amazons for giving their best for the progress of the Association, and he pledged to continue supporting the progress, stability and sustainability of REDAN, the Housing and Real Estate Sector.

Ugochukwu Chime as Immediate Past President, Mr. Andrew Elerewe as Vice President North Central, Alh. Abubakar Hussain as Vice President North East.

Alh. Dahiru Maishanu as Vice President North West, Pst. Makuachukwu Chidiebere as Vice President South East, Mr. Adejana Olujare as Vice President South West, Sir. Emmanuel Elili as Vice President South South, Barr. Kennedy Kanma as Legal Adviser, Arc. Frank Ajero as Treasurer, Hon. Princess Nnabuife as Financial Secretary.
Hon. Peter Inuayen as Auditor 1, Mr. Oyelowo Emmanuel as Auditor 2, Mrs. Lami Ahmed as Organizing Secretary, Alh. Ahmed Goringo as Publicity Secretary, Arc. Munachiso Okorocha as Ex-Officio 1, and Barr. Salima Makama as Ex-Officio 2.
