Akwa Ibom State Government has started moves to sack illegal person (s) occupying government acquired land and estates in Uyo, the state capital.

The moves, according to the Commissioner, Ministry of Land and Water Resources, Capt Iniobong Ekong (rtd), were to ensure that persons and corporate institutions with genuine allocation papers are protected from criminal activities of interloper developers and land grabbers.

Consequently, the Ministry of Lands and Water Resources has called on those with claims of allocation of plots of land in all acquired estates to contact officials of the ministry for revalidation and documentation of such claims within two weeks.
