As the Abuja International Housing Show Youth Competition on Affordable Housing Design and Ideas 2021 enters the second stage of the evaluation process, out of the over fifty candidates that registered, thirty six candidates have been shortlisted to proceeded to the second stage.

The AIHS youth competition is in the wake of the country’s need for affordable housing in the country which is one of the persisting issues of high national priority.

The converner of the Abuja International Housing Show, Festus Adebayo, in an interaction with Africa Housing News, noted that affordability often eludes many populations including low- and middle-income earners such as teachers, military personnel, health care workers, and most civil servants, and that the Affordable Housing Design and Ideas Competition will focus on a new generation of thinkers on the concept of delivering affordable homes.

Adebayo added that accepting entries from youths with no more than 10 years post graduation experience /undergraduate students, will provide the opportunity to empower the younger generation with real world practice in affordable housing development.

The competition which draws technical Partnership from Professional Bodies in the Housing Industry, enjoys sponsorship from Federal Mortgage Bank Of Nigeria,
