The umbrella organization for all housing agencies, institutes, mortgage institutions and some private property developers in Nigeria, Association of Housing Corporation of Nigeria (AHCN) has announced that the organization will host its 6th International Conference On Housing And Exhibition on Tuesday, November 1 to Thursday, November 3, 2022.
The annual conference themed: “Sustainable Housing Models to Solving Housing Deficit in Africa” is designed to assess and analyze the current African housing system in order to find sustainable housing models that are suitable and applicable to Nigeria’s system and cultural values in order to solve Africa’s housing challenges and deficit.
In a release made available to Africa Housing News, the conference aims to examine the global housing sector’s challenges and constraints in mass housing production; Develop, implement, and adapt an appropriate strategy to reduce and eliminate homelessness while also bridging the housing deficit gap and shortfall in developing countries; Create a strategic and functional funding mechanism for each geographical location to ensure the continuous provision of mass housing; among others.

Issues to be discussed at the Housing Africa 2022 revolve around housing finance, government policies, building and construction materials, technology and design, production culture, land administration system, environmental safety, housing cooperatives, and emerging issues in the aftermath of the global housing pandemic.
Expected to participate in the conference are Federal and State Government housing agencies; International housing agencies; Banks, insurance and mortgage institutions; manufacturers; professional bodies related to housing and construction; senate and house committee on housing (National Assembly); and research organizations on housing matters.
Paper presentations designed to address challenges facing the nation’s housing sector will be welcomed, while limited opportunities will be given throughout the programme to interested corporate bodies to avail participants of their corporate profile, businesses, achievements, and potentials, as well as their products and services.
Similarly, there will be a special presentation of proven ‘made in Nigeria’ building material products that have positively impacted the housing sector. This aims to promote such local products so as to drive the alternative building materials sector in order to facilitate affordable housing for low-income citizens.
The event which will be held at the Landmark event center, Lagos is open to sponsorship and partnership from local and international stakeholders.
