Aerodrome Residents Kick Against Construction Of Gas Plant Within Estate, Say Their Lives In Danger

Residents of Aerodrome Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ibadan, Oyo state capital have protested against the construction of a gas plant in the estate due to incidences of gas explosions in the country, saying their lives are in danger.

The residents under the umbrella of Aerodrome GRA Homeowners and Residents (AGRA) appealed to Oyo State government, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), all relevant agencies and stakeholders to immediately revoke and stop the construction of LPG gas plant in the area.

The gas plant allegedly owned by Gasland is under construction in the estate.

But, residents of the estate while protesting on Sunday, insisted that citing of a gas plant in the area posses a lot of dangers on both residents and other citizens.

AGRA Vice President, Professor Omolola Atalabi, while addressing journalists on Sunday appealed to Oyo State Government and DPR, to save them from imminent danger posed by the construction of the gas plant.
