The management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has effected some management changes while renewing some contract terms at the company.

According to a memo dated November 13, 2020, AEDC said: “We write to provide further updates with respect to changes that have been made at Executive Management level. We reiterate that these changes are meant to reinforce sustainable performance in our operations.”

The investors had recently announced changes in the board of AEDC but the Chairman, Amb. Shehu Malami, disputed this in a statement.
With this announcement, some officials whose contracts should end and were to leave between November and January would no longer be leaving as earlier reported.

The Chief Change Management Officer, Clara Musama, on behalf of the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, announced the Director Corporate Services, Mr. Faraok Aliyu, as the Executive Director Corporate Services.

It also said the Company Secretary, Oluwayemi Dansu, will take up the position of Company Secretary, “Once all Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) requirements have been concluded.”

The memo also said some roles were re-assigned. “The role of Director Legal/Company Secretary has been split such that each role is administered separately.”

It said Mrs. Jumoke Delano will now be designated as Director Legal Services. The role of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has been split into two portfolios. The CFO, Mrs. Ije Okeke, will now take up the role of Chief Corporate Development/Corporate Finance Officer, while Mr. Solomon Odep will be the General Manager Finance Operations/Accounts.

Equally, the role of Chief Information Officer has been restructured and the activities under ICT will be managed at General Manager level.
