…Urge Participants, Visitors To Register Ahead

By ABAH ADAH, Abuja

Organisers of the Abuja International Housing Show have declared zero tolerance for any behaviour capable of breaching the COVID-19 protocols put in place to check the spread of the pandemic at the forth-coming 15th edition of the show slated for next week.
The principal organiser of the show, Barr. Festus Adebayo, made the declaration on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the show adjudged one of the biggest housing programmes in Africa.
He said, “As we commence the 15th Edition of the AIHS next week, the importance of Housing cannot be overstated if we must accomplish social distancing and promote personal hygiene according to World Health Organisation Protocols. The AIHS 15th Edition has put in place safety protocols to facilitate a hitch free conference with zero tolerance for risky behaviour and we believe participants will be duly guided.
“As you all know, the global pandemic impacted the Global Housing Market and Nigeria as well and we saw the resurgence and importance of Housing not only as an investment but also as necessary and critical social infrastructure for fighting and effectively combating the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria and across the world.
“This year theme is: “Sustainable and Resilient Housing Solution for a Post-Pandemic World”. We hope to fully explore the different innovations and requirements that can effectively position housing as a tool in combating the epidemic on the single premise that the world has finally come to the realisation of the importance of Housing and the environment and, therefore, Nigeria and Africa cannot be left behind so as to adequately prevent the kind of experiences witnessed in India, South Africa and other parts of the world as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned.”
All admonished all prospective participants, including media men, to do the needful and register in good time we’ll ahead of the show ” so that as soon as you get there you show your scanner to the screen to prove that you have been registered.
He said considering the large crowd that will throng the venue, all most all the process will be technology-driven.
“We shall be having over 300 exhibitors at the this year’s show, including Larfage, Dangote Group, to mention but a few. Also there will be 30 speakers from around the world, some of whom, as a result of the COVID-19 will be joining virtually,” he said.
