Managing Director of Housing Programs for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Debra Erb has received an Excellence Award in Global Housing Finance from the Abuja International Housing Show during the opening ceremony of the event’s 13th edition on Tuesday in Abuja.
Debra Erb leads a team of finance officers to develop, diligence, underwrite and close SME debt and guaranty facilities in emerging markets. She also oversee a worldwide responsibility for business development in the housing finance and mortgage finance sectors.
She was previously the President, Societas International Institute for Real Estate Finance, initially funded by the Mortgage Bankers Association of America to support research, technical assistance and training in “best practices” of mortgage finance around the world.
The globally acclaimed mortgage expert has assisted in the area of funding for numerous countries including Ghana and Kenya.
The award, according to the organisers is in recognition of her housing finance interventions that have greatly impacted the sector for many beneficiaries.
She is currently attending the Abuja International Housing Show in Nigeria alongside local and international experts in housing and finance to ponder more on the sustainable models for the provision affordable housing.
The Abuja International Housing Show is a well recognised housing and construction show in Africa for learning, networking, exhibition and making of sales.
