The Kano State Fire Service has rescued 10 persons trapped in a collapsed building at Gwammaja ‘Yan Kosai in Dala Local Government Area of the state, spokesman Saidu Muhammed said in a statement on Tuesday.
“On receiving a distress call at about 1:30a.m on Tuesday from one Malam Abdullahi Muhammad, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 1:37 a.m.
“We discovered that the house, a one-storey building, collapsed on 10 dwellers and were covered by broken blocks and sand,”Muhammad said.

Eight out of the 10 people in the building were rescued alive and taken to hospital, while the rest two were found dead and their remains evacuated to the hospital where they were confirmed dead.
The Nation also disclosed, that a teenager in Delta State, simply identified as Gbenga has died after a fence collapsed on him during a torrential rainfall in Afiesere, Ughelli North council area of the state.
The Nation learnt the victim last week finished writing the West African School Certificate Examination.
The incident happened when he was returning from a private clinic where he had gone to give food to his younger sister on admission, it was gathered.
