The Chairman of the Cubana Group in Nigeria, Obi Cubana, has said his collaboration with Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited for the development of a mixed housing complex in Abuja will benefit low-income earners.

The alliance aims to supply around 10,000 residential assets to low and middle-income earners, civil servants, and other types of prospective homeowners.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hill City Community housing project is slated for September 1, 2022, according to a release.

Obi stated ahead of the sod-turning ceremony that the collaboration between Casa Cubana, owned by the Cubana Group, and Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited would provide prospective subscribers with global standard residential assets.

He stated that the assets would ensure benefits for living, working, and playing in a well-developed, highly urbanised zone of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In part, the statement reads, “Affordable housing is a major concern for most residents of Abuja and the new Smart City, Hill City Community housing project is carefully planned and designed to address the challenges of access to quality housing at affordable flexible ownership terms.

“It will also be built by young Nigerians who will be engaged through direct means.”

Obi stated that the project would assist in addressing the issue of affordable housing for Nigerians who are severely affected by housing shortages across the country.

He further intimated that similar schemes were in the pipeline for Enugu, Lagos, and Akwa in Anambra State.

He stated that the Hill City Community housing project in Abuja was placed in a safe environment, close to the Abuja airport and other key destinations in the Federal capital city.

In the process of developing the project, Obi stated that architects, engineers and other consultants would be recruited through an open engagement process.

He said the project had full approvals with complete tarred access road.

According to him, the partnership would provide low-income earners with quality housing options and would give subscribers the option of building by themselves if they so desired, while the facility owners would provide complete and standardised infrastructure such as a central sewage system, water system, inner roads, parking, security, and other facilities.
