Nigerians from Ukraine to gain automatic entry into Poland
A senior Minister in Nigeria spoke with Poland President, Andrzej Duda last night, and a deal was subsequently reached to allow all Nigerians resident in Ukraine into Poland, in the wake of the Russian invasion of the Eastern European nation.
Nigerians fleeing an escalation of the conflict, are turning to Poland for succour.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that: “In light of recent happenings in Ukraine, please be advised that all Nigerians crossing over to Poland would have staff of the Nigerian Embassy waiting for them.”
Former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, has just tweeted that; “Nigerian officials from the Embassy in Poland are at the border with transport for Nigerians.” Once you cross the border from Ukraine into Poland, please shout out to be located. No sealed lips . Shout “Embassy of Nigeria” so they can find you o.”
Nigeria’s federal government is also making plans to evacuate all Nigerians stranded in Ukraine, through the Embassy in Poland, Warsaw, as fighting and shelling hits the streets of Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital city.
A group of Nigerians in Poland are also attending to Nigerians at the Polish border.
